Because the surface of the clothes is made of a hydrophobic layer, fabric is waterproof and stain resistant but it is able to be washed. If in case of a spill on shirt, simply just pour water on it and the stain will wash off.

How to wash:
Hydrophobic does not mean absolute waterproof, this is not a raincoat. When the water pressure gets to a certain level, the water molecules can go through the fabric.
